Leon Daniels to retire from TfL

Leon Daniels, Transport for London's surface transport managing director since April 2011, is leaving the organisation towards the end of the year. Daniels (62) intended to retire two years ago, but agreed to stay on after Mike Brown's appointment as London's transport commissioner. 'Leon has made a very significant contribution to TfL and London,' says Brown. 'Our progress under his leadership has been considerable. This includes building a bus service that is the envy of all world cities.'
