Rebodied Rhondda Regent joins CTPG collection

The Cardiff Transport Preservation Group has added the oldest bus to its collection, a 1933 ex-Rhondda Transport AEC Regent that became a bodybuilder's demonstrator in 1947. On withdrawal in 1946, it was sold to Welsh Metal Industries in Caerphilly, which built a new body for it and demonstrated it to potential customers before selling it for service with Yeomans of Hereford. It became a static, engineless caravan in 1954 and remained on a Herefordshire farm until the CTPG acquired it earlier this year with plans to restore it to how it looked 70 years ago.
