BrightBus to close at end of summer term

MAS Special Engineering is closing its 60-vehicle BrightBus schoolbus business in South Yorkshire at the end of July. Managing director and co-founder Mike Strafford (55) cites his own health issues as the main reason for closing the North Anston-based business, which started in 1998. He says he is working with South Yorkshire PTE and schools to help smooth the transition to other operators, but has ruled out selling BrightBus as a going concern.
