Attached to Midland's unattached arch

The tale of the historic arch from the entrance to the old Midland Red Southgates garage in Leicester has moved on, with the structure - the former garage entrance - incorporated into the new buildings on the site…but only after a fashion. The good news is that it's still there and this part of the redevelopment is called Midland, taking its cue from the lettering carved into the arch. Viewed from directly in front, it looks as though the façade has been built into the new premises, as many a developer has done successfully when laced with the same architectural challenge.
