Plaxton launch will save lives

Scarborough's new £2million lifeboat has a name familiar to Buses readers. It is the Frederick William Plaxton. That is the F. W. Plaxton who founded a joinery-based building contractor in 1907 and diversified into manufacturing bespoke car bodies - some for royalty - and later into charabanc and coach bodies. Today it is part of Alexander Dennis, producing Enviro200 and Enviro400 buses as well as its own-branded range of coaches.
