NatEx adds Clarkes to its London presence

National Express Group has strengthened its position in the London coach market by purchasing Clarkes of London for an undisclosed sum. The profitable family-owned company, which operates around 60 coaches all bought new and has an operator licence authorisation for 70, is being run alongside The Kings Ferry, the 75-vehicle Gillingham, Kent-based business that NatEx acquired in 2007, with managing director Ian Fraser now responsible for Clarkes in addition to The Kings Ferry.
