Cape Town's last London Leyland lingers on

On a visit to South Africa early in 2016, Mark Lyons stumbled upon former London Transport RTL841 in Matjiesfontein, a Victorian spa village in the Western Cape, nearly 200miles from Cape Town. Cape Town is the reason it is there, as RTL841 - a 1950 Leyland Titan PD2 7RT with Metro-Cammell body - was among about 150 RT family double-deckers sold to Cape City Tramways between 1963 and 1966. It became its No.766 in 1966 and was re-registered CA209-918.
