South-eastern routes go electric

Five more routes, four of them in south-east London, are scheduled to receive battery-electric double-deckers by the autumn. Along with other recent tendered service awards, this means that over 200 new battery electric buses should enter service in the second half of 2021, subject to installation of charging infrastructure. Stagecoach Selkent takes over routes 160 (Catford Bridge-Sidcup) and 180 (Belvedere-Lewisham) from Arriva London and Go-Ahead London Central respectively. The 180 is due to be altered in connection with the opening of the Elizabeth Line, to run between Erith and North Greenwich.
