Surrey to spend over £40m on greener bus operations

Surrey County Council is investing £41.3million on reducing and partially eliminating bus emissions by 2025. The county's Ultra Low & Zero Emission scheme aims to introduce up to 80 hybrid or zero-emission buses by 2025 and for all buses to meet that standard by 2030. It is allocating £32.3million to support the introduction of compliant buses and a further £9million on bus priority measures to speed up services and reduce emissions, plus £1.4million to improve its real-time passenger information system. An additional £6.3million will support the purchase of ultralow or zero-emission community transport minibuses.
