Merseytravel maintains routes as Arriva subcontracts Runcorn link

Independent operators are providing three of Arriva North West's routes on Merseyside as a consequence of the pandemic. Two have become Merseytravel contracted routes while another has been subcontracted. With air travel greatly reduced, Arriva is redeploying the three Wright Gemini 2DL double-deckers recently refurbished for service 500 (Liverpool John Lennon Airport-Liverpool city centre). The 500 has become a Merseytravel contracted service, provided by Selwyns of Runcorn using coaches not equipped initially with ticket machines.
