Flixbus launched its first three domestic UK coach services on 2 July and is aiming to be market leader within five years.The biggest European express service operator, headquartered in Berlin, announced in February that it would start operating within the UK [Buses April). It already operated services between London and continental Europe and acquired Stagecoach's loss-making Megabus services on the continent in 2016.It is offering up to three journeys a day on three routes to and from Victoria Coach Station in London: Birmingham (Dudley Street), Portsmouth (Hard Interchange and international port) via Guildford, and Bristol (Bond Street) via University of West England. In common with its operating model in Germany, there is no service on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Fares start at £2.99.'This is just the beginning,' says UK managing director Andreas Schorling. 'We have great plans for Britain and aim to grow to market leader by 2025.'
