Accessibility deadline extended for third time

Rail replacement services have been granted a third extension to comply with the PSV Accessibility Regulations. Transport minister Chris Heaton-Harris has written to the Rail Delivery Group, extending the 30 April deadline until the end of 2020. 'I do believe we must be more ambitious about how and by when PSVAR compliance can be achieved,' he says. 'I am, of course, aware that the supply of compliant vehicles is not within the industry's gift and acknowledge the issue is not one the rail industry can resolve on its own.'
