NatEx makes first perch in Canaries

National Express Group's Spanish-based ALSA division has expanded into the Canary Islands with the purchase of Gran Canaria coach and schoolbus operator Gumifade. ALS A acquired the 100-vehicle operator towards the end of last year. It is based in the north of the island, has 60 employees and a mix of vehicles from 13-seaters to 60-plus capacity coaches. It operates over 100 school routes, excursions, private hires and a public bus service linking the municipalities of Gaidar and Guia via the beaches of El hole and Roqueprieto and the communities of La Atalaya, La Montana de Gaidar, Los Sauces and Anzo.
