NatEx ditches diesel

National Express Group has stolen a march on the rest of the UK operating industry by declaring that it has already bought its last diesel bus, that its bus operations in the West Midlands and Dundee will be 100% electric by 2030 and its long-haul coach services will be zero-emission by 2035. Making the announcement on 27 February, when he revealed a 13% increase in global operating profit last year of £295.3million, chief executive Dean Finch said: 'As industry leaders, we are delighted to make major pledges in the shift to zero-emission vehicles. National Express will not buy another diesel bus in the UK and lead the transmission to zero-emission coaches.
