Berlin double-deckers to be electrified for tourists

Two of Berlin's A39 six-wheeled MAN Lion's City double-deckers are destined for conversion to electric drive sightseeing vehicles. Berlin-based Tassima is equipping the twin staircase vehicles with an electric driveline for their new role in the German capital. Municipal operator BVG previously resisted the sale of these vehicles to city tour companies but a spokesman says an exception is being made because of the conversion to zero-emission technology.
