A no-deal Brexit on 31 October could add tens of thousands of pounds to the cost of importing new buses and coaches, warns the Confederation of Passenger Transport. It says this could have a particularly severe effect on coach prices. The CPT, the operating industry's main trade body, says that the current no-deal tariff level envisaged after the UK leaves the European Union could add between 10% and 16% to the cost of completed vehicles. With around 80% of new coaches being imported, mainly from EU countries, CPT says this could cost operators an additional £32million in the first year.
