Stagecoach South West axed its erstwhile all-day direct Torbay-Exeter route 46 on 14 April and loses supported rural route 20 to Taunton - its last local service into Somerset - after 25 May. Some commuters are angry that the 46's route 7A replacement only departs Torquay at 06.15 and 07.05, reluming at 17.50,18.50 and 19.50), misses out Paignton and circuitous Newton Abbot detours add 20min to the journey time. Devon County Council says most use is by Torbay residents travelling to Exeter, so any shortfall in provision is primarily for Torbay Council to address.
