Bristol Airport route upgraded to double-deckers

A fleet of 12 new Scania N250UDs with Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC double-deck bodies has been delivered to First West of England, to operate the A1 Airport Flyer service in Bristol.The service, linking the airport and city centre, was operated by a similar number of Wright Eclipse 2-bodied Volvo B7RLE single-deckers, but increasing passenger numbers have required extra capacity. In the interim, First has operated some of its similar dual-door Scania double-deckers intended for the MetroBus rapid transit network.The new buses have a revised Airport Flyer livery and a bespoke interior with additional luggage racks downstairs, blue e-Leather Lazzerini seats, wood effect floor, next stop information and USB ports at every seat. Upstairs includes three tables each serving four seats, a pair located at the back and the third behind the staircase.
