The reason why West Bridgford converted Regents to lowbridge

Mike Fenton (Vintage Fenton File, April] mentions the conversion of highbridge double-deckers to lowbridge layout.The two examples he cites are West Bridgford UDC 8, 9 (CRR 91/2). These were AEC Regents with Park Royal H31/25R bodies new in October 1936 along with similar 10 (CRR 93). Willowbrook rebuilt these two buses to lowbridge layout (L27/25R) in readiness for the start of the joint service with Nottingham City Transport and South Notts Bus Company to Clifton Estate on Wednesday 29 October 1952.
