Huw's loses O-licence, easyCoach cancels all registrations

Further upheaval in North Wales has come with the traffic commissioner revoking the operator licence of Huw's Coaches, while Shrewsbury-based easyCoach has cancelled the registrations of all its routes, including services launched in competition with Arriva in Wrexham. Following reports of serious safety concerns and attempts to intimidate Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency inspection staff, Welsh traffic commissioner Nick Jones revoked the O-licence of Huw's Coaches - trading name of Tacsi Gwynedd - with effect from midnight on 2 September. Huw's took over tendered services in the Caernarfon area from the beginning of this year following the closure of Express Motors. Gwynfor Coaches stepped in to continue these contracts from 3 September.
