Development of Taicang Port, Jiangsu Province as a Sub-Central Port in Shanghai International Shipping Center

Taicang port (31°39'N, 121°12'E0, located on the south bank of the Tangtze River in South- eastern Jiangsu province, is adjacent to Shanghai city, 53 km from Shanghai business center and 46 km from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. With over 20 km of deep-water front (water depth >10 m) and only 100 km from the mouth of the Yangtze River, it is most favored for the develop- Ment of ocean shipping.
