Five new CAS institutes in the pipeline

CAS is to join hands with local governments in establishing five new institutes in coastal or economically booming cities. The five institutes will be the Yantai Institute of Coastal Research for Sustainable Development (YIC) at the beautiful seaside city of Yantai on the Shandong Peninsula, the Qingdao Institute of Biomass Energy & Bioprocess Technology (QIBEBT), also in Shandong Province, the Suzhou Institute of Nano-tech & Nano-bionics (SINANO) in the fast developing Yangtze delta, the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT) in an economic engine of the Pearl-River delta, and the Institute of Urban Environment (IUE) in Xiamen, a seaside city in southeast China's Fujian Province.
