Suggestions on foundry technology development

Foundry or metal-casting, a major method for metal forming, is the foundation for hot working processing. The metal-casting history in China could be traced back to the early years of the time-honored Chinese civilization. Chinese ancestry has cast such ingenious bronzes as those unearthed from the 4,000-year-old Sanxingdui Site in Sichuan Province. In modern time, especially following the reform and open policy in the late 1970s, Chinese foundry industry has seen tremendous development. Over the past six years, its annual casting output has surpassed that of the US, becoming the top cast producer in the world. It is estimated that the total output value from China in 2005 was more than 250 billion yuan (about US$31.5 billion), accounting for one fourth of the world total.
