Werts Welding & Tank Service was founded in 1957 in Wood River IL by Robert and Verna Werts. They were joined in 1977 by their son, Dwight Werts, who is now the company's president and chief executive officer. The third generation, Dwight's son Nick, is now an integral part of the business.
