While this book covers both competition and regulation themes in aviation markets, it is in effect very much focused on the area where the two themes intersect. The book aims to illustrate the role of the market and its interplay with the development of economic policy in the context of a dynamic industry and, furthermore, to illustrate how market mechanisms, and particularly competition, can operate to resolve policy issues successfully.
