Michael A. Cohen is Professor of International Affairs and Founding Director of the Julien Studley Graduate Program in International Affairs at The New School in New York. He worked at the World Bank from 1972 to 1999, served as Chief of the Urban Development Division for many years as well as Senior Advisor for Environmentally Sustainable Development, and worked in fifty-five countries. He is the author of many books and articles on urban issues and development, most recently Argentina's Economic Growth and Recovery, (2012) and edited The Global Economic Crisis in Latin America: Impacts and Response (2012).
