It has now been 10 years since "fine water spray" attracted renewed attention as an environmentally friendly fire suppression agent. In the early 1990s, water mist was recognized as a potential alternative to ozone-depleting gaseous fire extinguishing agents for use on liquid fuel fires in machinery spaces and other areas where water was not traditionally used.
