If your building receives shipments from Coca-Cola, your beverages may soon come with a lower carbon footprint. Coca-Cola is set to deploy more than 30 alternative fuel vehicles in select cities throughout the U.S. by the end of 2013. The company's alternative fuel fleet includes hybrid electric, liquid natural gas, and compressed natural gas vehicles. All of Coca-Cola's alternative vehicles will reduce emissions equivalent to removing 10,000 cars from the road annually. Sixteen of those alternative fuel vehicles are refrigerated plug-in electric trucks, which will transport Odwalla beverages in San Francisco's Bay Area. The first-of-its-kind vehicle produces zero tailpipe emissions and will eliminate fuel usage by about 90 gallons per week.
