Updates to bEQ Program

ASHRAE's Building Energy Quotient (bEQ) program has been updated to provide a clearer picture of a building's true energy use and allow more nimble comparisons between energy consumption at various types of buildings. The bEQ program is a method of rating and labeling buildings based on energy use and offers two designations. The As Designed label rates the expected energy use under standardized conditions, independent of occupancy and usage variables. The In Operation label measures the building's actual metered energy use as influenced by the building's occupancy, structure, and usage.
