Paymaster-general Geoffrey Robinson is to radically change the government's construction procurement methods in response to Sir John Egan's Rethinking Construction report. He is expected to launch an action plan for departments stating that they should employ more integrated private sector project teams, and increase the use of standardisation and measurement on projects. Project sponsors will also be told to become more involved than they are at the moment when Robinson sets out government policy on 3 November at a conference on the Egan report.
