The Office of Fair Trading s investigation into bid rigging has been labelled "incompetent" after it emerged that it wrongly accused some companies of collusive tendering on projects they had not been involved in, writes Michael Glackin. A source close to the investigation said: "Companies have been accused of rigging specific contracts but in some instances the contractors have never heard of the contracts ... it was a case of mistaken identity.
