Laing O'Rourke is to double the number of apprentices it takes on. The contractor's Apprenticeship Plus programme, announced during Apprenticeship Week, will increase intake by 200 this year. It will also ensure that its supply chain will employ a further 800. Recruits will receive formal industry education in modern engineering, manufacturing and construction.rnAn Official Journal notice will be released for the new NHS ProCure21+ framework on 5 June, the Department of Health said this week. The notice will be for the selection of principle supply chain partners, and the prequalification questionnaire submission date will be 6 September. The framework will begin on 12 September 2010, as the original ￡3.4bn framework, designed for the procurement of new large hospitals, ends.
