Iwrote on 12 June about how the recession had affected the construction industry. It has not improved since then, and for general contractors the worst may still lie ahead, when public sector workload is significantly reduced after the general election. However, I now wish to consider the adverse effects that the recession has had on training and education, and how ConstructionSkills has responded to ensure it continues to support the industry.
