£36m hospital asks M&E engineer to foot bill for faulty floors

The M&E engineer of a £36m Welsh hospital, which was forced to close in May when its floors overheated, has been asked to fund the cost of remedial works.rnArup was appointed to investigate the defective heating system at the 108-bed Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda, and remedial works are now beingrncarried out to correct the fault, so the hospital can re-open.rnBuilding understands that M&E contractor RW Gregory, now part of consultancy RPS, has been asked to fund the cost of these works.
