Cost consultant Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) decided to set up an office in Saudi Arabia last year and started the process in earnest at the beginning of 2009. "It means we have got to know the market over a period of time," says Andy Ritchie, the firm's global board director. "In the past 12 months we have been carrying out research on the market here. Last autumn we decided to commit properly."rnRitchie has big ambitions for the new operation. He was responsible for setting up an RLB office in Hong Kong in 1993 with 10 people. Over 10 years he built this up into a major regional operation, employing 250 staff. "I want to replicate that here," he says. "At the moment we have six people, but I want to get that up to 250."
