PLP to draw up plans for Southbank resi scheme

The architecture practice formed from an acrirrionious split at Pinnacle architect Kohn Pedersen Fox has won a commission to draw up plans for a major residential scheme on London's Southbank. PLP, formed by former London directors of KPF, confirmed this week that it had been hired by the Carlyle Group to draw up plans for the redevelopment of Ludgate House and Sampson House, situated adjacent to Blackfriars Bridge. Building understands the Carlyle Group, which bought the properties as part of a portfolio of six London office buildings in July 2010 for £671m, is considering redevelopment plans that will see the two buildings, situated either side of a railway line, treated as a single development.
