Its Centre Pompidou-Metz, with its sweeping, irregular roof, has redefined design boundaries for timber construction, while 7 More London Riverside, part of the 13-acre More London development, underlined the practice's green credentials when it became the first building in England to achieve a BREEAM "outstanding" rating. Despite the downturn, the firm continues to invest in training and development through the recently launched Arup University, which, together with its civil engineering apprentice scheme and continued commitment to research, should ensure its place among the design world's elite for years to come.
