Support services firm Mitie has overtaken the £2bn revenue mark, as profit also edged up for the year ended 31 March 2012. A string of major wins - including a five-year facilities management deal with Lloyds Banking Group worth £775m - boosted turnover to £2,002m from £1,891m the previous year. Pre-tax profit also rose to £94.5m from £86.8m. Chief executive Ruby McGregor-Smith said:" We have made excellent progress on all of our key strategic objectives, achieved sector-leading organic growth and been awarded a number of significant contracts that are enhancing our business. "This success is an endorsement of our long-term strategy to invest in our integrated facilities and energy management capabilities," she added.
