Marks and Spencer's third sustainability learning store at Cheshire Oaks, just outside Chester, is the firm's biggest yet. The roof is made of glulam beams, 99.5% of which are certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council. The wooden roof has meant that the retailer has been able to dispense with false ceilings. The 195,000 ft2 store has been constructed with zero waste going to landfill and using 60% recycled aggregates.
