Retirement home builder McCarthy & Stone chief executive Mark Elliott has announced he will be stepping down at the end of February 2014. McCarthy & Stone will soon begin the search for a replacement. The latest financial year saw the company increase its revenue by 21% to £310.8m and saw a 15% growth in profit to £46m. Engineering giant Atkins has announced it will buy US consultant Nuclear Safety Associates. The 130-strong consultant specialises in technical engineering, professional security and design engineering services for the nuclear sector. Atkins did not say how much it would pay for the firm.
