Housebuilders today are under huge pressure to meet demanding sustainability requirements while keeping costs under control. This is driving new technologies and methods of construction that do not have the benefit of being tried and tested. Developers may be further inclined to use unorthodox systems as they have to innovate to meet the higher standards in the new Part L. Inevitably, some of these new solutions won't work out as predicted and occupiers are already reporting problems with their complex new homes. So, what are the pitfalls of these technologies and what can housebuilders do to mitigate them? That was the subject of a recent webinar organised by Building and LABC Warranty.
