Housebuilder Persimmon has said customer enquiries increased sharply following the announcement of the government's budget housing package. The firm said that the announcement of the Help to Buy package led enquiries, already running 24% ahead of the same point last year, to increase by a further 30%. Total sales are 11% ahead of 2012, at £1.38bn. HTA founder Bernard Hunt is to retire as the architect restructures to become a limited liability partnership (LLP). Hunt - who founded the practice with John Thompson in 1969 and is currently chair - will continue as a consultant to HTA. The restructure will mean nine remaining board member and four heads of department become partners in the firm.
