Kier given deadline to table bid for May Gurney

Kier has one week to table a bid for May Gurney, after the services firm set a date for its shareholders to vote on its proposed merger with Costain, writes AllisterHayman. May Gurney said last Friday (12 April) that its shareholders would be asked to vote on the £178m all-share merger with Costain on 7 May, with Costain shareholders to vote the next day. The merger is being recommended by both firms' boards.
