Hong Kong is one of the most developed and stable countries in Asia. Its location makes it an ideal focus for trade and investment, providing a headquarter location and gateway for foreign companies entering mainland China. It is a popular tourism and shopping destination and home to many of Asia's large conglomerates.Hong Kong has a population of 7.1 million and an area of 1,100km~2, giving the fourth highest population density in the world, exceeded only by Singapore, Monaco and Macau. It is mountainous and less than 25% of land area has been developed. As a result it is an epicentre of tall construction. Over 110 buildings exceed 180m tall.
