Aecom promotes 20 staff to be UK directors

Aecom has promoted 20 of its staff to director level in its UK project and cost management and consulting business, taking the total number of new directors in the division to 55 since January, writes Iain Withers. The news came as Aecom and URS unveiled the combined global management structure that will come into effect once Aecom completes its £2.3bn takeover of URS next month. The combined company will be structured into five divisions - design and consultancy, building construction, infrastructure and industrial construction, capital investment and end markets. Aecom's current Europe chief executive Steve Morriss will head up design and consultancy in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. The director promotions in the UK PCC business include 10 in cost management, four in project management, four in consulting and two in engineering services. In addition, Aecom has poached 20 staff from rival firms to become directors this year, including Nick Willars from Buro Four to become head of design management and Darron Cox from Atkins to lead on procurement advisory.
