The Royal Air Force Museum is Britain's only National Museum dedicated solely to aviation and the history and traditions of the RAF. It has three sites (Hendon, Cosford and Stafford) and a trading company which supports its funding which comes principally from the Ministry of Defence. An opportunity has arisen for a self motivated professional to take full responsibility for the management of the museum's estates which include extensive grounds, buildings and mechanical and electrical installations at all three sites. The postholder will be required to manage consultants and contractors across a range of disciplines. He/she will be able to identify the extent of the museum's maintenance liabilities and to ensure that contracts are in place to provide the appropriate level of service. The postholder will have responsibility for procurement, contract management, legal compliance and budgetary control reporting to director-level. This role also includes the provision of professional support to the Museum's development projects.
