UK set to be Europe's biggest construction market by 2025

The UK will overtake Germany to become Europe's largest construction market by 2025, according to a major report published this week. The Global Construction 2030 report - published by consultancy Global Construction Perspectives with Oxford Economics - predicts the UK will be the "stand out growth market in Europe" over the next 15 years, and will be the world's sixth largest construction market by 2030. It says mega projects such as HS2 and the next generation of nuclear power plants are expected to drive accelerated growth in UK construction over the medium to long-term. The report also projects that global construction output will rocket by 85% through to 2030, thanks largely to the economies of China, India and the United States.
