Saint-Gobairis Multi-Comfort concept was launched in March at Ecobuild That same month construction started on a sports and drama hall for King's Hawford, one of the junior schools of The King's School, Worcester, making it the first building in the UK to be designed using Multi-Comfort principles. "After launching the concept at Ecobuild, it's great to be able to put years of research and development into practice and see Multi-Comfort come to life," says Mark Allen, habitat technical director for Saint-Gobain UK and Ireland. Multi-Comfort is a complete approach to building design. The concept incorporates the low-energy values of Passivhaus but with additional emphasis on occupant wellbeing through a focus on thermal, audio, visual, indoor air and even economic comfort criteria. "Multi-Comfort is about going back to first principles and saying 'what does a person need in order to function at their best," Allen explains.
