This has been the case at the retail giant's new £275m mall in West Yorkshire, The Broadway Bradford. The 570,000ft2 development on a 4ha site in the centre of Bradford will include three anchor stores - Debenhams, Marks & Spencer and Next - plus 80 shops and restaurants, and 1,300 car park spaces. The scheme first received planning approval back in 2003, with construction getting under way on the basement and foundations in 2006, before grinding to a halt in 2008 as the downturn began to bite. Revised plans were approved in 2011, and work finally resumed at the end of last year.
