Interserve reports green boost

Irrterserve made "significant" progress towards meeting sustainability targets in 2014, according to the firm's own report on its sustainability programme. According to the report, the contractor's sustainable procurement processes and supply chain code of conduct have been introduced for over 1,500 subcontractors and supply chair contracts, while 61% of its supply chain spend is now with SMEs. The report shows the firm achieved a 10% reduction in total construction waste and a 26% reduction in emissions from UK on-site energy generation, while 80% of timber it procured globally was certified to PEFC or FSC standards.
